Shortly after it's release in 2002, "Fair is Fair" received considerable airplay on Americana stations with it's first single, "Lucky Me" which reached number 94 on the Americana Chart in the U.S. and stayed in the top 100 for six weeks; it was #12 on the EMS chart in Europe; and in the top 30 on the Roots Music Report Folk Chart for sixteen weeks.

Both the film and the soundtrack were nominated for Gemini awards in their respective categories.
